The need for Changing Places care rooms

A Changing Places toilet is a toilet facility with a height-adjustable stretcher, sink and toilet and is equipped with a ceiling lift. The need for this facility in the Netherlands is great. Some 100,000 people with severe disabilities also want to get out and about and they depend on it.

What organisations say…

“Throughout this collaboration, I got to know Karin as a professional who takes a goal-oriented approach. She involves all stakeholders in the process to ultimately achieve an optimal result. This means that with Karin you always get the best result. The technical aspect was of great added value. By including this advice directly in the engineering, we were able to open the first Changing Places toilet, including complex technical applications, within three months.”

Rens Willemsen
Director Beekse Bergen and Speelland

A man in a grey suit and a woman in a white coat are smiling outside the entrance to a toilet with the ‘Changing Places’ sign. The wall is picturesque and has a sign with a wheelchair and care symbol hangs on it. They are standing under a wooden canopy.

“Starting from tomorrow, I’m going to greet everyone with an open attitude and I’m going to gauge first if someone can use/wants help and not immediately go into help mode.”

“We are extremely happy to be the first museum in the Netherlands to realise a Changes Places toilet for children as well as adults. We would not have managed this without the expertise and (technical) advice from Joint Projects and their Rebel team. Thanks to their professionalism and adequate action, the most suitable location could be determined at short notice and the drawings were drawn up, also taking into account our monument. An extra challenge! Thanks to the Rebell Team’s advice, the layout better suits the users’ wishes and their recognition. Things we would otherwise have overlooked. A very nice cooperation!“
